Medical Insurance is Not Required!
However, we strongly recommend that students have additional health insurance for broader coverage.
Student success starts with health and well-being. Foothill College Health Services provides you with access to high-quality health and wellness support to help you stay healthy, focused, and successful throughout your academic journey. Most Health Center services are available at low or no cost once you’ve paid the required Health Services Fee during your class registration. You may qualify for a fee exemption.
- This fee supports both Health Center Services (when available) and Mental Health Services.
- Keep in mind that the student health fee does not cover hospital visits, specialist care, dental or vision services, or emergency transportation.

Student Health Services Options
Foothill College offers multiple ways to access health care and essentials. Whether you need a quick virtual visit, in-person care nearby, or basic health supplies on campus. Explore the options below to find the service that best fits your needs.
First, schedule an appointment using the bottom below. Complete the check-in on your phone or computer. Then, join your video visit a few minutes before your appointment.
Telemedicine can be used to treat common ailments including fever, body aches, cough, cold, flu allergies, diarrhea, rashes, sore throat, UTIs, and vomiting
- Basic assessments, evaluations, treatment, and prescriptions for minor or short-term illnesses and injuries.
- Virtual visits with an Instant Urgent Care healthcare professional through a secure telemedicine platform.
- Students can access instructions for using telemedicine services online.
If you need face-to-face care, Foothill College partners with nearby Instant Urgent Care locations for in-person medical services. Call to schedule an appointment and let them know you are a Foothill College student.

- Student Health Services is available to ALL students who are currently enrolled and attending for-credit classes at Foothill College*.
- To start, simply bring your Foothill OwlCard Student ID to your in-person off-campus appointment or show it when meeting for your telemedicine appointment.Also see options for Sunnyvale Center students.
- Minors
- If you are a Foothill College student under the age of 18, you will need to have your parents sign the “Minor Authorization Consent Form" form before visiting the Health Center.
- Disabled Students
- We are here as an additional resource for you. We encourage you to make an appointment for a quick medical consultation so that we are fully informed of your needs. Guide dogs and service animals are also welcome during visits!
- Faculty, Staff & Managers (Employees)
- The student Health Center does not serve employees EXCEPT;
- In the case of a critical emergency prior to the arrival of emergency responders
- If you are authorized by District Human Resources to have a Tuberculosis (TB) test.

* Please Note: The District also has a contract with Kaiser Cupertino and Kaiser Santa Clara for authorized Tuberculosis (TB) testing if either location is more convenient. Also, Students attending noncredit classes do not pay the Student Health Fee and therefore are only eligible for student health services if they contact Admissions & Records to pay the health fee for the quarter.
The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is following the County of Santa Clara guidelines for preventing spread of respiratory viruses, including COVID-19.
Students who received health services at the Main Campus Health Center after September 25, 2017 can access their Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) in two ways.
- For vaccines and covid related items: PyraMED in MyPortal.
- For health visits: Use the Athena/Instant Urgent Care portal (IUC).
Prior to June 30, 2017
Planned Parenthood was our contracted provider for health services prior to June 30, 2017. Records may be retrieved through Planned Parenthood in Mountain View.
To access your records, you'll need to complete a records request form in person.
Wellness Lounge
Our lounge offers a variety of resources and services designed to help you relax, recharge, and prioritize your mental health and wellness, including massage chairs, wellness literature, quiet and calming spaces for yoga and stretching. Find resources aimed at helping you manage your stress. Located in room Room 2313).,
Lactation Lounge
Foothill College offers a private lactation room as part of its Health Services and Mental Health & Wellness Center, providing a supportive space for breastfeeding and pumping students, located within the Health Center, and is available as part of their broader support for student-parents.
Mental Health
Access support for your emotional well-being by providing accessible, inclusive, and compassionate care. Our goal is to help you manage stress, build resilience, and feel supported. The Mental Health & Wellness Center offers counseling, wellness resources, workshops, and spaces designed for rest and renewal.
