Make an Appointment or Sign-In for Drop-In Counseling

The Transfer Center offers appointments for transfer planning and 15-minute Quick Questions sessions for brief support. Students can get help with UC, CSU, private, and out-of-state applications.

Appointments can be scheduled up to 7 days in advance. A Foothill student ID or CWID is required. Appointments fill quickly, so check back often if no times are available. One appointment per day is allowed.

For help signing in for a drop-in session or scheduling an appointment, call the Transfer Center front desk at (650) 949-7821. If staff are unavailable, please leave a voicemail with your full name, CWID, and phone number.

Quick Questions are for short transfer-related questions and are limited to 15 minutes.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment

Before meeting with a Foothill College transfer counselor, make sure you’re ready to get the most out of your time. Gather your transcripts, test scores, and any records related to your goals. Be prepared with questions and a list of potential transfer universities or majors.

Appointments are 30 minutes and limited to one per day (five per quarter). Distance learners can meet by phone or Zoom, and cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. After two missed appointments without notice, only Quick Question sessions will be available for the remainder of the quarter.

  1. Apply to Foothill College (if necessary).
  2. Complete English and math assessments (if necessary).
  3. Bring relevant documents such as transcripts, test scores, and other records.
  4. List potential transfer universities and major programs you are considering.
  • Maximum 30 minutes per appointment; one appointment per day.
  • Maximum five appointments per quarter.
  • Telephone counseling available for distance learners.
  • Minimum 24 hours’ notice required to cancel.
  • After two missed appointments without cancellation, only 10–15 minute Quick Questions sessions will be allowed for the remainder of the quarter.
