About Our Painting Program
The Foothill College Art Program (Emphasis in Painting) is geared toward students with a variety of skill levels. In this emphasis, students take Oil Acrylic and Watercolor Painting I and II. to enhance their portfolios for transfer into art programs, build life painting skills, find their voice, and be part of a community of artists

Drawing Facilities & Rooms
Rooms 1601 & 1602 provide students enrolled in the painting emphasis access to the following facilities:
- Standing easels and horse easels
- Painting Boards
- Drafting tables
- Large art design tables
- Standing lights
- Still Life Prop room

Special Events and Workshops
In addition to the painting credit classes, there are community-based plein air painting workshops at Hidden Villa hosted by Foothill College Community Education and student painting exhibitions.
Degrees & Certificates
Earn an Associate in Arts (AA) in Art or a Certificate of Achievement (CA) in Art
— with an emphasis in Painting.

Quick Look at Painting Courses
The painting credit courses provide a welcoming community within person- classes on weekdays, Saturdays, as well as hybrid and online options. Each course consists of 6 hours per week, with plenty of open lab time for assignments and technique refinement.
