Winter 2026 Important Dates

  • Winter Quarter runs January 5 – March 27. 
  • Registration begins November 10.

Apply & Register for Winter Quarter

  • October 1, 2025: Apply for admission if you are a new or returning former student.
  • November 15, 2025: Last day for international students to apply.
  • October 20, 2025: Winter class schedule available.
  • November 10, 2025: Priority registration begins.
  • January 5, 2026: Winter Quarter begins.

Course Registration Dates Based on Priority Enrollment

New students must complete all matriculation steps to receive priority registration for Winter Quarter.

Continuing students must have enrolled during Fall Quarter to qualify for the best registration date.

Students are assigned registration dates in the following order. You may register from your assigned start date through January 4.

Registration Window Eligible Students
November 10 to January 4 Veterans, Foster Youth, DSPS, EOPS and CalWORKs students who have completed orientation, assessment and an education plan; selected an educational goal; and declared an academic major
November 12 to January 4 Student athletes who have selected an educational goal, declared a major and have an updated education plan
November 13 to January 4 Continuing students who have selected an educational goal, updated their education plan and declared an academic major
November 17 to January 4 New, fully matriculated students who have completed orientation, assessment and an education plan; selected an educational goal; and declared an academic major
November 18 to January 4 New, non-matriculated students who have selected an educational goal and declared an academic major but have not completed assessment, orientation or an education plan
November 19 to January 4 Transfer and returning students who have selected an educational goal and declared an academic major
November 20 to January 4 All other college students, including continuing students who have not declared a major or an educational goal, students with more than 100 degree-applicable units, degree-holders and students on academic probation
November 24 to January 4 Dually enrolled high school students (freshmen through seniors and others who qualify to attend Foothill)

Paying Your Fees

Please Remember: Payment in full is required at the time of registration and when adding subsequent classes. You may enroll in an installment payment plan via your MyPortal account. December 10: Drop for nonpayment on cumulative fee balances of $250 or more.

Adding Classes After the Quarter Begins

  • You can add a class with an instructor's add code/permission during the first two weeks of the quarter only.
  • When you add classes, you must pay all fees at the time of registration.
  • You will not be permitted to submit add codes after the end of the second week. Plan accordingly.

Deadlines listed below apply to standard 12-week classes. For non-standard classes, check “View Your Class Schedule” in MyPortal.

Sunday, January 18 Last day to drop for a full refund or credit
Sunday, January 18 Last day to drop 12-week classes with no grade of record
Monday, January 19 Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (college closed)
Friday to Monday, February 13–16 Presidents Day weekend (college closed)
Friday, February 27 Last day to petition for a Winter associate degree or certificate
Friday, February 27 Last day to petition for a Spring associate degree for transfer (ADT)
Friday, February 27 Last day to drop with a W
Monday to Friday, March 23–27 Final exams
Friday, March 27 Last day to request pass/no pass
Friday, March 27 Last day of Winter Quarter
Monday to Friday, March 30–April 3 Spring recess
Monday, April 6 Winter grades available in MyPortal
Monday, April 6 First day of Spring Quarter 2026

Additional Notes
