Faculty Guide to Accommodated Testing

Managing Accommodated Testing in Clockwork

Faculty play a key role in supporting students who use accommodated testing. Through the Faculty Clockwork Portlet in MyPortal, instructors can review and approve accommodation letters, manage testing appointments, and submit exams and exam rules to ensure proper proctoring. This page outlines the essential steps and responsibilities to help you navigate the process efficiently and in compliance with Testing & Assessment Center procedures.

Accommodated Testing Faculty Checklist

  • Meet with each of your students to determine the date and
time of their accommodated testing appointment.
  • Remind your students to make their appointment via
Clockwork three business days in advance of the exam date
and seven business days in advance of the final exam date.
  • Submit your exam to the Testing Center, via Clockwork or in
person, by 10:00 a.m. of the business day prior to your
    student’s scheduled testing appointment.
  • Clearly communicate your exam rules by:
    • Defining your approved materials (note cards, books, etc.)
    • Specifying the in-class exam duration time,
    • Stating your preferred delivery method (scan & email or
      pick up in person).

Faculty Clockwork in MyPortal

Use your Faculty Clockwork Portlet in MyPortal to view and approve student accommodation letters, view and approve student appointments, upload exams and designate exam rules so that the Testing & Assessment Center can proctor your exams correctly and responsibly.

Faculty are responsible for submitting exam and exam rules to the Testing Center by 10 a.m. of the prior business day to a student's testing appointment.

If you do not approve student accommodation letters, you will not be able to view or approve student appointments. Students cannot take an exam in the Testing & Assessment Center without Clockwork approval from the instructor.
