Reasonable Accomodated Testing

Foothill College offers reasonable test accommodations to our registered Disability Resource Center (DRC) students with documented disabilities. To receive accommodated testing, you must first register with the Foothill Disability Resource Center (DRC) and also meet with a DRC specialist to determine eligibility. Check the hours for drop-in assistance.

Eligibility for accommodations is based upon the nature of the disability and the course curriculum.

Accommodated Testing Policies & Procedures

  • You must be registered with the DRC.
  • You must book Clockwork appointments at least three (3) business days in advance of your instructor-approved exam date and time.
  • Final exams must be booked at least seven (7) business days in advance.
  • Failure to book an appointment may result in a forfeit of testing accommodations and you may be required to take your exam in class.

Please note that we reserve the right to deny accommodations if you do not meet the requirements listed above.

TAC operates on a15-minute grace periodfor all accommodated testing appointments, which allows students to start their exam fifteen (15) minutes before or after their scheduled testing appointment time.

  • Students who arrive 15 minutes late are not guaranteed their full accommodated testing time if they do not complete their exams prior to the Center’s closing.
  • A student arriving after the 15-minute grace period has ended will forfeit their accommodated testing time per instructor exam rules.

When you make or request an appointment with the Testing & Assessment Center (TAC), it is your responsibility to notify the TAC of any changes. Failing to cancel an appointment may prevent another student from accessing a needed testing seat.

You must contact the TAC if any of the following situations occur:

  • You need to cancel your appointment.
  • You expect to arrive late to your scheduled appointment. (Late arrivals may result in time being deducted from your exam or extended-time accommodation.)
  • You will be absent from a scheduled appointment.
  • You decide to take the exam in class during the regular class administration instead of using the TAC.
  • You drop or withdraw from the course. In these cases, the TAC may cancel any future appointments for that class.

No-Show Consequences

Because of limited hours and staffing, the TAC enforces a no-show policy to ensure fair access to services.
  • Two (2) unexcused no-shows may result in your testing accommodation services being suspended for the quarter.
  • An unexcused no-show is defined as failing to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
  • After two no-shows, you must meet with the DRC Supervisor to schedule any future testing appointments. All previously scheduled appointments will be considered tentative until that meeting occurs.
  • This policy does not apply to appointments missed because of an emergency. If an emergency occurs, notify the TAC as soon as possible to explain the circumstances.
  • Makeup exams require a valid excuse and must be approved by your instructor.

How to Cancel an Appointment

If you need to cancel, contact the Testing & Assessment Center at least 24 hours in advance by using the contact card details on the right or bottom of this page.

For Faculty

Please note, exams may not be proctored synchronously with your class; however, exams will be proctored within the same day if time and space permit. All appointments must be made through Clockwork in MyPortal. Learn more about how to book an appointment and more.
