Meet Our Wellness Ambassadors

Wellness Ambassadors are student representatives of the Foothill College Mental Health and Wellness Center who work alongside licensed clinical clinicians. They help promote mental health services, reduce stigma, build community, and foster an inclusive and non judgmental campus culture. Hear about our student team in their own words.

Alexi AguilarHey, I am Alexi, and I am excited to be part of the Wellness Ambassador team. I am a first year college student majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I am passionate about mental health and well being and want to help create spaces and events where students can feel comfortable being themselves.

A wise friend once told me that when we do not feel our best, it is hard to perform our best. That idea inspired me to believe that asking for help is a sign of strength. My goal as an Ambassador is to spread positive energy and make sure students know they have support through resources like the Wellness Center and free outside services.

Outside of school, I enjoy learning new instruments, rock climbing, reading, and traveling.

Martha BurceaHi everyone, my name is Martha, and I joined the Wellness Ambassadors team this fall. I moved to the United States earlier this year and am studying biology with the goal of becoming a dentist.

I am grateful to the Foothill community for helping me adjust to a new society, overcome language barriers, make friends, and reaffirm my desire to help others. Coming from a country where mental health is not widely prioritized, I feel fortunate to learn more about this field.

I love traveling, music, learning about the human body, and making a positive difference in how we care for people.

Rightful Fong Weng HanWhat is up everyone. My name is Rightful, and I am a first year economics student at Foothill College. I moved from Malaysia to the United States to pursue my studies.

I enjoy traveling, exploring different cultures, running, and reading financial news. I strongly believe mental health plays a major role in motivation and daily decision making.

If we do not feel well mentally, it becomes difficult to perform at our best. Caring for your mental health is something you owe to yourself and your loved ones. If you ever feel overwhelmed, reaching out for help is always a better option than doing nothing.

Vivian LaiHi, my name is Vivian, and I am a second year Psychology major. My journey has been shaped by resilience through experiences with racism, cultural barriers, and ageism.

I strive to challenge stereotypes, dismantle harmful narratives, and promote understanding and inclusivity. My goal is to support others facing similar challenges and help build a community that values diversity and strength.

I am an active officer in the Psychology Club and Active Minds Club and also work at the Learning and Writing Center. I enjoy traveling and exploring different cuisines.

Hannah MartinHi, my name is Hannah Martin, and I am a first year student majoring in Business Administration from Sydney, Australia.

After adjusting to a new culture and routine in the United States, I became passionate about helping students feel connected and supported. My goal as a Wellness Ambassador is to create a welcoming space where students can thrive and connect with Mental Health and Wellness Center services.

In my free time, I enjoy crafting, traveling, and meeting new people.

Michelle ThiHi everyone, my name is Ye Thi, but I also go by Michelle. I am a third year student majoring in Public Health Science while completing prerequisites for the Dental Hygiene Program.

As an international student, I understand how important well being is when living away from home. I was welcomed with kindness at Foothill College, and I hope to share that same warmth as a Wellness Ambassador.

I enjoy exploring new places, eating out, practicing Pilates, and attending music festivals.

Isha VyasHi, my name is Isha Vyas, and I am a first year student majoring in Computer Science and Engineering.

I attended a highly competitive high school where academic pressure was common and support was limited. Seeing peers discouraged from asking for help motivated me to become a Wellness Ambassador.

My goal is to help create a campus environment that uplifts and supports everyone. In my free time, I enjoy walking, watching Formula One, and reading.
