Foothill’s Testing & Assessment Center is here to help you begin your academic journey smoothly. Whether you need course placement recommendations, make-up exam support, or testing accommodations, our staff provides friendly, student-centered guidance every step of the way.
Subjects for Placement
Course Placement RecommendationsFoothill College’s placement process now reflects AB 1705 and supports the diverse needs of our student community. Placement for math, English, ESLL, and chemistry is determined using multiple measures, including your U.S. high school transcript and/or guided self-placement for students without a U.S. transcript.
With AB 1705, students are eligible to enroll directly in transfer-level English, credit-level ESLL, and transfer-level math courses. Need more information? Visit AB 1705: Your Fast Track to Graduation. |
Placement Results
Log-in to your Portal to view your Placement results, then meet with a counselor to develop your educational plan. We are hear to support you on your journey.
- Login to MyPortal.
- Select "Apps" from menu.
- Under Students, Select "Student Registration App."
- Under My Records, select "View My Placement Results."
- See your Course Placement.
- If you have questions about your placement results after viewing them in MyPortal, please contact us.

.Once you finish your placement or guided self-placement, there are a few important steps to follow. You can review your results, meet with a counselor, and plan your next courses to stay on track with your academic goals.
Use the information below to understand where to find your placement results and what to do if you need support, have questions, or want to retake or challenge your placement.

Policy for Re-taking Guided Self-Placement
- Placement results do not expire. A student may choose to re-take the Math Guided Self-Placement as many times as they like. The Language Arts or ESLL Guided Self-Placement can be taken twice.
