Inside Wireman (formerly General Electrician)

Launch your career in the electrical trades through Foothill College’s Inside Wireman Apprenticeship Program. This registered apprenticeship blends paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction so you can gain the knowledge and skills needed to install, service, and maintain complex electrical systems, industrial, commercial, and residential. Prepare to pursue state certification and roles that include inside wireman, voice/data/video technician, fire/life-safety technician, or lighting systems specialist.

Inside Wireman Features and Benefits

  • Registered apprenticeship in partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
  • Combines paid, on-the-job training with related classroom instruction through Foothill College.
  • Learn to install, maintain, and repair complex electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Curriculum includes electrical theory, blueprint reading, safety standards, and renewable energy systems.
