Plumbing and Pipefitting Apprenticeships

Foothill College’s Plumbing and Pipefitting Apprenticeship is a comprehensive program created in collaboration with UA Local 62 and UA Local 467 Plumbers & Steamfitters. Through a mix of paid on-the-job training and classroom instruction, apprentices learn to build, assemble, and maintain sophisticated piping systems, as well as plumbing and mechanical systems used in new construction and remodel projects.

With options to earn a Certificate of Achievement or an Associate in Science degree, this program is designed for individuals ready to enter a high-skill, high-demand career path. Admission is limited to apprentices registered with the partnering UA Locals per California regulation.

Plumbing and Pipefitting Features and Benefits

  • Registered five-year apprenticeship program in partnership with UA Local 62 and UA Local 467 Plumbers and Steamfitters.
  • Combines paid on-the-job training with in-class instruction.
  • Learn to build, assemble, and maintain complex piping systems for industrial, commercial, and residential facilities.
  • Gain both basic and advanced plumbing and mechanical system skills for new construction and remodels.
  • Completers are eligible for either a Certificate of Achievement or an Associate in Science degree, depending on their path.
  • Designed for registered apprentices admitted through UA locals, per California regulations.

Earn an Associate in Science (AS) degree or Certificate of Achievement (CA) through Foothill College’s Plumbing and Pipefitting Apprenticeship Program. This program combines classroom instruction with paid, on-the-job training to prepare students for careers in plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC service within residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
