AI Learning Community at Foothill

Exploring the Impacts of AI

The AI Learning Community from ETI is an open space for students, faculty, and staff to learn about artificial intelligence in a supportive and collaborative environment. Through informal discussions, presentations, and shared resources, explore how AI tools and technologies affect education, creativity, research, and everyday life. No technical background required, all are welcome! Also, check out our AI Lab for more opportunities to engage in artificial intelligence.

Mission & Scope

The AI Learning Community is an interdisciplinary group from Foothill and De Anza colleges which gathers to discuss the innovations of AI and it's implications. It is an informal space with discussions, presentations, and even mini-trainings. These discussions help inform and give guidance to our shared governance groups such as Academic Senate, Classified Senate, and MIP-C through our membership.

Membership Includes:

  • Students
  • Faculty (including from other districts)
  • Staff
  • Alumni
  • Community Members

AI Learning Community History

The AI Learning Community was started in the summer of 2023 by the Dean of the STEM Division, Zach Cembellin, chemistry instructor Robert Cormia, and humanities instructor Mona Rawal to create a space for individuals (faculty, students, and staff) to learn, share, and discuss all things AI and its relevance to education settings.
